Rest In Peace, K9 Ringo

K9 Ringo

Ringo, a dedicated K9 officer for the Covington Police Department, passed over the Rainbow Bridge last week. Today was his memorial ceremony. Ringo has been one of our favorites over the years and while we know it’s been a sad week for us, we know how much harder his passing is on his family – both his work family at CPD, his handler, and his home family where he was able to enjoy retirement.

Prior to today’s service, Ringo had a police escort through the Covington Square to the Covington Police Department where an honor guard as well as other K9’s and handlers lined the sidewalk while his remains were carried into the station. While there were some words, and some tears, there was also this video tribute. We hope that it helps everyone who was not touched by his special personality, or those who missed the service, to understand how much personality and how great of a dog he was – both in service and in life.

We wish him many rides in patrol cars, belly rubs, sunbathing, treats and spa days to a dog that became like one of our own over the years. Please keep his handler and family in your thoughts.
